Import QFX From File Manager. Download and save a QFX file from your bank or credit card website. It should contain the financial data for your account. Locate the QFX file and double click it. This opens up the file in Quicken. Select the account from within Quicken when prompted. Quicken will import the financial data into the account register.
Quicken allows you to import data from select financial institutions, applications, and other versions of Quicken. Before you begin. Please be aware that Quicken cannot import Excel (.xls), CSV (except to import security prices), QuickBooks, PDF, or OFX files.
How to Import an Excel File Into Quicken Open up the Quicken program. In the 'Property & Debt' menu, click on 'Quicken Home Inventory.' Click on 'File Menu,' then choose 'Import.' Choose 'Comma-separated' or 'Tab-separated.' This will depend upon the type of Excel file you used. Click 'Open'. How to transfer a Quicken data file to Moneyspire 1. An XLS file is the native spreadsheet file type for versions of Microsoft Excel prior to Excel 2007. A QIF file is a Quicken Interchange Format file. The QIF file format was originally established by Quicken for use in its financial applications. However, the QIF file format is now used in many other financial applications, including Microsoft Money and GnuCash. The XLS file format may be converted to the QIF format by using a free add-on for Microsoft Excel.

Download and install the free XL2QIF Excel add-on from Chez-Alice (See Resources). A new item is added to the toolbar in Excel.

Open the XLS spreadsheet to be converted in the Microsoft Excel application.
3.
Click the “XL2QIF” option on the toolbar, and then click the “Save to QIF” option. An Export dialog box opens.
4.
Type a name for the exported QIF file in the “File Name” field.
5.
Navigate to the location where the file will be saved in the “File Location” field.
6.
Click the button labeled “Convert.” The XLS file is converted to the QIF format.

If your company has been using Quicken but is transitioning to QuickBooks, you don't have to lose your important Quicken data. The QuickBooks program features a conversion tool through which you can convert your Quicken files for use in QuickBooks. Intuit also offers a free program called Quicken Converter through which you can convert Quicken files so that they can be opened in QuickBooks.

How To Import Quicken Files To Another Computer
Launch QuickBooks, click the 'File' menu, and then click 'Utilities.'
Browse to the location on your computer where your Quicken QDF file is stored, double-click it, and then follow the onscreen prompts on the conversion dialog to convert your Quicken file. A card merely thought of by thomas baxter.
Quicken Converter

Download the Quicken Converter from Intuit's website (link in Resources).
2.
Launch the downloaded Quicken Converter file, click 'Next,' click 'I Accept the terms in the license agreement,' and then click 'Next' again.
Click the 'I am transferring data from Quicken for Windows' radio button, and then click 'Get Started.'
5.
Click the 'Open a data file located on this computer' radio button, and then click the 'Select File' button.
6.
Browse to the location on your computer where the Quicken file is stored, and then double-click it.
7.
Click 'Convert it,' followed by 'OK,' and then click 'Save' to save your converted file.
Warnings
To convert Quicken files in QuickBooks, the version of QuickBooks to which you are converting must be newer than the version of Quicken. You can't, for example, convert from Quicken 2010 to QuickBooks 2009.
You may need to fine-tune your Quicken data after importing it into QuickBooks (see Resources).
